September 2006

Ay yuh, originally uploaded by shannabeane.

And this is what joy means! My wonderful grandbaby, Erik.

The paid work is completed for September now to do the work I need and/or want to do here at home. That means cleaning, cooking, sewing, sorting and the like. I am trying to use some of this time to get ready for the November craft show. I have to make a few new sewing projects. Fun, fun, fun. But this morning there is no inspiration so I am just puttering in and out of the sewing room.

the wood has arrived, originally uploaded by mabeane6.

At seven this morning the cord of wood I ordered came.

Got my last address today…hurray. That gives me 8 “at home” days. I have so many things I want to do. I need to get ready for the November craft show in Woodland. Jean and I are doing it together. I would like to make some handbags and some tablerunners.

Tomorrow Jean and I are going to an all day womens retreat in Woodland. It should be fun. Paul promises to make a big mess while I’m gone. I am excited. The mess will be from getting ready to install the wood stove.  Yippee.

After several days of 70 and 80 degree weather it has started to cool down. The sun is shining but its only 57 degrees and the wind is blowing.  My neighbor tells me it is dropping to 30 tonight. I guess I’d better haul in those green tomatoes so they can ripen inside.

I am making a pumpkin bar for Paul’s snack.  I found a recipe online and I had a can of pumpkin. So to celebrate being on the brink of Fall we will eat pumpkin!  I got a lot of fresh veggies from Robin today and have a delicious smelling soup in the crockpot for supper.

I went to the quilting guild last night and I won the blocks.  Yippee. I have put some of them together already! Jean went with me and we had a good time. Of course getting home so late made me draggy this morning.

September has brought the blue flowers out. They are blooming in the front and up the trellis, Batchelor’s Buttons. Delphinium and Morning Glories. Wow.

I love blue. All these blue flowers are in my front yard.

This morning’s profusion of blue made me smile.
