May 2007

DH has finished mowing the lawn…again, so much rain makes it grow fast. I have the beds made and ready for company, Night off from Sox game so we will relax and watch something already recorded. Kids should be in by ten. I am really looking forward to a wonderful weekend. I wish Tee and Jo and their families could be here as well but Jo tells me she is coming in August. Yippee.

I am putting up shades in the sunroom and carefully measured each window…at the bottom. Well  this is an old house and the windows aren’t square so i need to take two back to have them cut a bit more so they’ll fit.  Silly me.

I love baseball season. DH and I enjoy the game almost nightly.  This year the Sox are doing terrific. Even more fun to watch.

I went into Calais this morning to get some food in for the weekend. The kids will  before we know it. I am feeling much, much better. I replaced my inhaler and got a spacer. I made the pharmacist show me how to use it. Then she made me do it again to make sure I got it. Wow. Instant relief.

Jeannie B took me to a Chinese birthday lunch.  Yum. We went to Marden’s and enjoyed a bit of wandering. That was fun.

I didn’t sleep well last night so today was a slow day. It wasn’t too hot and I did a bit of work in the house. My “Little Women” doll patterns came in and they look easy and interesting. I am eager to get started with them. Next week. Next week.

I am so excited about the kids coming on Friday and Saturday. I think it will be a good time. Five of the grandkids will be here for sure and maybe six.

This was a gift from Amity last year. It is doing well and almost ready to blossom.

Charles came on Saturday and plowed up the garden. DH had planted a cover crop and it plowed under nicely. We are giving the other garden a rest this year.

Although this is a bit fuzzy it documents that Myrtle is still with us. She can her a few years ago as a small turtle, escape her captivity and moved into the back pond. Every so often we see her.

What a beautiful day! There is a nice breeze. DH is mowing the lawn so the sweet small of grass is filling the air. I have attended to some house messes so the place looks decent. Life is good.

It is hot but we are at the weekend with a Monday holiday. I have finished my census month and DH doesn’t go back to work until Tuesday.  We have a laid back weekend planned puttering and doing stuff we want to do. Next week is the Family gathering of those who live close enough to come and help me celebrate my birthday! I am excited.
