Its the kind of a day for moving very slowly and resting often. Reading a book in an air conditioned room is perfect. So that’s what I did.  The story was a good yarn, on the light side but it kept me down and resting for quite a while.  Hubby was up very early this morning so he napped beside me. Oh, the lazy, hazy days of summer. I love ‘em.

I was up early making pasta salad with a bit of chicken to take for this yummy lunch. I packed bowls and utensils in my small basket and we were able to have the nicest lunch here on the river.

We stopped for lunch and a bit of fishing. Not long after he threw the hook in he caught his first one..

The sweet sounds of early morning filled the yard as I wandered out to look at my garden. The sun was reflecting off the back of the ‘about to blossom’ green beans. I’ve already had a small feed of beet greens and the chard is coming along nicely. Perhaps we’ll have a late enough fall so most of my late plantings will reach maturity.

I have been making aprons for two days. It is an easy sit down job with a lot of basting…keeps me down when I need it and easy sewing. The pattern is straight forward and I was able to cut out four at a time. I tried to look at the easier way to put it together and wrote out all the measurements for the parts, ie. body, pockets, straps, as well as placement of each part so that i could breeze right thru. I am happy with the results. I have been calling them peasant aprons but many country aprons would be a better name.  I needed to get some made for the craft show in August.

It is very muggy today but because the house is closed up with air conditioning for my asthm needs I didn’t realize how bad it was until I popped over to visit the neighbor. Whew…hot and steamy. She is doing poorly today and said she just didn’t feel right. She is in my prayers.
