Unbelievable Rolls

5 cups of flour

3/4 c of water

3/4 c of milk (dry milk works)

1/2 c of sugar

1t. salt

5 t yeast

2 eggs

1/2 c butter or margerine

1. Place 4 1/2 to 5 cups of flour in a bowl (I mix wheat and white)

2. Heat to warm milk, water, sugar and salt (I used hot water..1 1/2 cups and add the dry milk  and other stuff to it)

Add eggs and yeast and mix well. Pour into the “well” in the  flour. DO NOT STIR. Cover with a lid (plate, saran wrap, whatever. Let it sit 20 to 30 minutes.

3. Melt butter and pour into the bowl with flour and yeast mixture. Stir well. Add more flour if sticky. Knead lightly. Cover and let rise 20 to 30 minutes.

4. Shape into loaves, rolls or what ever you want. (Today I made rolls and cinnamon rolls.) Let rise 20 to thirty minutes.

Bake in a preheated oven for 15 minutes for rolls , abit longer for loaves.

Enjoy.

The dough is rising. Next I will make four hamburger rolls and some bread. This is the recipe for unbelievable rolls. It is a very easy one with great results.

Half a pie!, originally uploaded by mabeane6.

When DH arrived home today we had apple pie with our coffee. It was yummy! Now there is less than a quarter of a pie. DH says it’s his!

There have been suspicions of predators in the area in the last few days. The plastic I covered the small henhouse window with was torn to shreds. The second heavier plastic piece was also broken apart. Fortunately I had put up a metal grate on the inside and that is still holding. Last night DH spotted two sets of eyes just after eight and later again in the early hours of the morning.  Today we strung Christmas lights along the edge of the roof so we could see better take care of this problem. I hope it works!
