November 2007

It’s been cold and tomorrow is supposed to be colder. Monday and Tuesday will bring snow. It is, after all, almost December. This year has flown by.

I have been working on getting the ducks to come out of the pond when I carry down their grain. Every day the same. I leave the grain. They stay in the pond. Later when I return the grain is gone. Today was the day. I arrived with the grain and before I put it down they were all up and ready to eat. The next step is to get them into the duck shelter to eat. I am hoping that will give them some winter protection.

We had pizza for supper and were glad to reach the end of the week and the end of the day. We are both tired.

DH’s birthday camera arrived today. That should keep him busy until bedtime! Lots of things to figure out and try out. He is delighted. So am I!

I am still dragging through the sorting out of the census supervisors’ behaviors. It makes no sense but who am I to know anything. Phone tag calls have netted me nothing…yet. I am feeling flat while trying to remain optimistic.

Its raining here today, at least its not snow and I have brisket in the crockpot cooking. Bedtime will be early tonight.

Monkey bread and a fresh cup of coffee make for a delightful morning. Yum!

The quiet in the house after the holiday visit is audible! We can hear every house noise and even the ticking clocks! What a good time we had.

Now we are cruising toward Christmas. This will be a toned down, quiet time for us. We will celebrate our anniversary and enjoy each others company. Good food, talks and walks will be part of the plan. Life is good here at the farm!

DH took this of me with the daughters and granddaughters that were here.

What a wonderful visit we have had. Two families visited and were willing to sleep wall to wall! We enjoyed eating, talking, walking, visiting and doing special holiday things. Amanda kept us laughing and kept her mother hopping.
