November 2007

The night was bright with the full moon and moon shadows everywhere in the early morning hours. The temps here were in the low teens and there is a smattering of snow here and there.  We are having a quiet cup of coffee and some computer time while two of the three children sleep in.  Nikki and company are expected late in the day. Tee has been invited to learn to make a wreath with our neighbor. Emma is hoping her friend here is back from Thanksgiving visits elsewhere.  The sun is shining brightly.  It should be a good day!

Gabe helped get out the Christmas things., originally uploaded by mabeane6.

The day after Thanksgiving means getting out some of the Christmas things. Gabriel was a wonderful help decorating and when I pulled out the Santa quilt he was delighted. I have been wanting to give it away and he quickly became a willing recipient!

Emma enjoyed teaching the guys a new card game. She managed to win every game much to her delight!

Late in the day connection!, originally uploaded by mabeane6.

In a household where there are seven laptops floating around the lack of internet connection can be quite a challenge! We found that there was no connection from early morning until late in the day on Thanksgiving. It was Daniel who suddenly did the happy dance saying, “Its back. I got the internet again!”

This morning the cursor on my laptop stood still. I shut down, I cleaned up, I disc checked. I did everything a computer dummy could think of to get it going again. Then DH came home. I turned my computer back on. It did another disc check and bingo… it works again!

This left me time today to make bread, a pie and cook a turkey . Not bad for a computerless day! I didn’t realize how often I use the computer for reference until today. Boy I missed that!

So many birds came into the feeders today. Perhaps they knew it was going to snow. This is the first time the downy has come in.
