This beautiful Araucana, blue egg laying bird won’t be laying anytime soon. She is a rooster! He has spent the last three days loving up any hen he can get his claws on!

I took a second walk down to the hen house after Charlie had plowed….again.  Whew the snow is deep.  He is saying if this keeps up he doesn’t know were we’ll put the snow.  More is predicted for Wednesday.  Yikes.  The streets are clear for now and the dooryard is opened up.  Who knows what Wednesday will bring!

I am always delighted to have pictures of our grandbaby, Erik. He reminds me of his dad when he played in the snow. The next grandbaby, his sibling, is due in late spring. I can hardly wait.

Hello!!, originally uploaded by shannabeane.

The snow started before 5 AM and has been coming down steadily ever since.  It is big fat swirling flakes and reminds me of a snow globe that has been shaken well. The birds have flocked the feeders.  The snow plow has been down the road once already. Otherwise the road is quiet with no traffic at all, not even a snow mobile. This season will surely bring record snowfall. More is predicted for Wednesday.

I am finishing up AK’s Christmas curtains and hope to get them in the mail today or Wednesday.

Tonight the old year is done and a new year begins.  It will be a year of change full of hope and joy.

Made a list today. Did everything on the list. Not too tired tonight. Felt reasonable good all day. Didn’t overdo but managed to get the basics done. I am on the mend. Finally!

We had a special brunch today , with our own eggs. Wow. Store bought eggs have no flavor or color. Thank you, hens!
