I spent some time this morning doing mandatory training required by my part time job. I have been stalling and tricked myself into doing it by giving myself a reward when I was finished. I am going for a visit to my sister’s house. I know I was avoiding this training task because the house is clean and the laundry is done. It seems when I need to avoid I find anything else to do instead of the task at hand. As it was, the training was straightforward and easy. What was I thinking?
Some melting occurred today and DH is busy making gullies to divert water that is running off. This is still lots of heavy ice on the steps down to the hen house but everywhere else it is getting soft and breaking up. I am glad to see some ground even though it is quite muddy.
I was able to get three boxes ready and taken to the post office for shipment. It is wonderful having a tiny post office where the postmistress/storekeeper will let you bring packages in early. She figured my cost and prepared them for shipping out tomorrow.
The Realtor came by today and put up a sign. He said he’d had responses to our place already. I wonder if that is good news or not? It would be nice to see the money! Time will tell.
Must be March I can hear the wind wailing. Two more days for the “goes out like a lamb”. April should bring showers and flowers or so they say. I am certainly ready.
I finished up Abigail, a lovely doll with long brown braids and blue eyes. I am very pleased with the results. She has jointed arms that make them a bit movable. I like that.
It has been a long, busy day. Three dolls going out, one to Georgia, one to California and one to Oklahoma. I am busy with two more. One has two ponytails one on each side and one has braids. I am working on their dresses. I’m in hopes of having one completely done by bedtime.
The bread I made yesterday is delicious. I am glad the recipe make three loaves because then at least one can go into the freezer. We plowed through the first loaf so the second is out to be eaten tomorrow. I found that being patient with the rising helped a great deal.
Saturday morning and it is not snowing. I feel energized and ready to jump into spring. Oh wait, how about the 6 and 8 foot piles of white stuff everywhere. Maybe, just maybe, it will be a melt-y day. We have had a leisurely breakfast of homegrown eggs and homemade wheat bread and are satiated. Now to plunge into the work of the day.
Fresh ground wheat berries and honey produced three loaves of delicious bread.
