We spent most of the afternoon in the emergency room after s visit to the doctor in the morning. DH had blood drawn, a CAT scan and lots of poking and prodding. After being given a pain prescription and an antibiotic we were sent home to make the trip to Bangor in the morning. After taking the pain medication DH is feelinggood albeit, sleepy. Hopefully they can do the necessary procedure and we will be back in our home tomorrow night. We’ll see, no guarentees.
I expect that if we have to stay over night DD Nikki will loan us a bed. I wanted to go into Bangor so this means I can do a couple of things I need to do there.
DH is in pain… again. This has been on and off since late December. We are suspecting a kidney stone due to severe back flank pain and nausea. This morning when I got up at 5:30AM he was up and was sheet white. He’d been up since 4AM. At 8 I called the Doctor and told him we would be down. Its time to get this fixed!
No rain today, just a cool clear day. If we have to take a trip to the hospital in Bangor the driving should be easy. I am have nothing that is urgent for me to do today so I am available for whatever DH might need.
Dark and dreary and wet today! I have tended the hens half of which are out enjoying the dampness and pecking here and there while the other half are sitting pretty on the roost! This seems like the way people behave… some just get out no matter what and others cling to their safe roost.
I am working hard to use the leftovers from the weekend (thank you Shanna) . Last night we had enchiladas with an online recipe from Owl Haven. They were both easy and delicious. It used up the chicken thighs. Tonight we will have stromboli using the cold cuts and fresh tomatoes. Sadly the brownies are all gone, we had the last two with our coffee today. Jeannie B took three home with her to keep us honest!
This morning I worked to finish up this sweetie. Sometimes I like the ones I make so well it is hard to put them up for sale . However, it is needful. So you can find Isabella here.
These came to the feeder early this morning.
You know spring is here when you hear the peepers. After dark they make a very loud song drawing you into the feel of spring. Tonight when I went to shut the hens in I walked over next to the small pond to listen.
It ’s so quiet here with Erik gone. His wonderful commentary in childlish 2 1/2 year old chatter kept us smiling all weekend. From “Where’s my Grampa?” to “c’mon Daddy!” Everything is new and fresh for him and it is wonderful to see the world through his eyes.
We enjoyed having Amity here for most of the week and benefited from her help in so many little ways. She was willing to drive me and also carry boxes from house to studio. It made a difference to me!
And Shanna… I could not be blessed with a dearer daughter in law. She cooks, she cleans up, she give me wonderful grandbabies. She is thoughtful and caring. How fortunate I am !
