The ducklings find water, originally uploaded by mabeane6.

On this very wet and rainy day Henny Penny brought her brood out and let them play in the water that flows down the ditch when it rains. Although she was soaked they were all happily playing. What a good mom she has been!

I just finished this sweet thing. Her name is Samantha but she prefers Sammi!

Its a rainy day. The rain is soft and gentle and it is keeping the pollen at bay. I am hoping to plant some as planting in the rain is the best!   No watering concerns!

These guys are growing very quickly.

Its a beautiful sunny day and I am headed to the bank (pay day, you know) and then to see my sister.  I haven’t seen her since she got back from Norway.

Later I have some sewing projects to complete and then doll work.  It should be a low key day, not dentists, no doctors, no necessary prescriptions, no census, no hatchings… just a regular day. Hooray!

These two 16 inch dolls have hair made with several different kinds of yarns. It seems to give it good texture and color. They are for sale here.

We need to make a trip to the dentist this morning, early morning! He needs to be there by 7:15 AM and it is an hour drive. DH has had two days of toothache and our regular dentist (the best in the whole world ) retired.

Everything we do here is a “long” drive because we live in such a rural area. Except for high gas prices ($4.19) we never mind the drives. After 22 years we measure trips in hours rather than miles. Hehe.

We also try to plan other things into the trips, ie “they have a nice grocery store there” or “we could go to the hardware store” or best of all”how about trying that restaurant?” Of course we don’t travel every week and eat out rarely.

The temps have left the 70s and are in the 50s with a brisk wind.   Brrr.   I am glad I did errands yesterday. The house is so cozy and warm and I don’t have any desire to go anywhere.

I have almost hit my 90 days in business and am excited to pull up and look at the numbers.  My thanks to all of you who helped me get started and encouraged me along the way.  I have learned so much and enjoyed every bit of it.

I sent another doll off the the UK this morning and expect to have two more out by tomorrow.  Whoo hoo!

The Memorial Day holiday has mixed me up and I keep thinking that it is Monday.  However, I got the Calais errands done and got back home in time to tend the hens and ducklings.  It has been funny weather, again rainy, sunshine, rainy, wind, sunshine.  When the rain comes it is torrential but only for 5 to 10 minutes.

The pollen is coming off the trees like snow and I am covering my nose and mouth whenever I go out.  Still I sneeze and choke up and struggle with breathing.  This will pass I know and I am trying to be patient.

Erik is ready!
