June 2008

It is still wet and consequently everything is lush and green! When we can mow the lawn again it will be a mile high!  No complaints though as today will be a slow and quiet day. Last week and the weekend were so busy I need a day of rest and today will be the day.

My long time friend (from when we both had wee kids) is coming for the week and should arrive late this afternoon.  I can’t wait to see her and have a week of gabfests and easy going fun. DH will head to Portland tomorrow for Isaac’s arrival. I am asking him to take lots of pictures of the new one so I can see him as well.  After such a long week for me the five hour trip down would not have done me well so Pat’s visit is good at this time.

I have a doll in the works… she needs some clothes and then I will go easy until next week.  The proceeds from the fabric and yard sale will be enough to take a break and get some more creative thoughts.  The fabric sale sent over a thousand yards out the door.  Since I haven’t had  quilting classes  in a few years and  my focus is on dolls and little clothes (needing 1/2 yard or less  it was time to stop looking at the excess fabric and  use the proceeds for paying taxes and the like!  Don’t worry I have NOT depleted my stock, just moved some on!

Day 3 of the sale and it is cold and overcast. DH has set the stove to going and even though we have windows open it is wonderful to stand next to the heat. A steady stream of folks have been in and out, a first just bying 25 cent items but then the fabric buyers showed up and they know a bargain when they see it!

I am tired and will be glad for the close of the day. A good soak in the tub will certainly make a difference in my achy bones.

My friend Pat is supposed to come tomorrow but I haven’t heard from her so I don’t know what’s up. My DD and family are  coming later tonight.

Still no baby!

My DH, the photographer, took this incedible picture!

This is about 4:45AM when I got up to use the bathroom. These guys were busily feasting on the dew laden grass hidden slugs. What a sight!

Day two of the sale… yesterday went very well.  We’ve already had someone in early and expect another busy day.  DH has gotten out some of his ‘barn’ stuff and it is selling.  He also got rid off a lot of junk and the rubbish truck took it away today.  All in all a good idea having a sale… it forced us to move forward.

The doctor told Shanna today that if Isaac didn’t show before Tuesday (July1st) they will C section her that day.

So Isaac make your move, will you?

The sale is going well so far. Even with rain the folks have come.  I am delighted.

Still on the inside!

My sister called and came today and what a huge help she was.  We had a customer here all morning and I was able to come and go because she was here. DH made and brought us a wonderful lunch. A bit later another showed up and then another… and the sale starts tomorrow!

Lots of fabric has gone out the door already… yippee!  It will be nice to have an empty room.  I am organizing my doll clothes in small baskets and I am finding that this works well for me.

I could use a nap, though. I am very tired.
