So this is my ordinary day post.
Saturday and guess what I slept in until 7:45AM. Not usual at all. Wake was followed by coffee and computer in addition to morning chat with DH about the days activities. He has finished school and is free as a bird, well sort of… he is working three morning awek and diligently job hunting but other than that…
After getting dressed I wandered down to the pond to check the new mother duck and her three babies. All was well. They are swimming everywhere with her. The duck kids are in the small pond and refused to come out last night. This morning they acted like they owned the place. I have a broody hen ready to hatch in two or three days. She will be moved (in her kennel) down to the truck cap near the big pond some the new duckling become acquainted with the area early on.
A half hour in the studio and then off to the post office for mail and milk. After a bowl of cereal DH and I walked over to the garden to see what had come through. Wow… my potatoes are up already… and to discuss where the mulch would go. DH is putting all the grass clipping between the rows. Everything showed up but the carrots so far.
Back to the studio for an hour of work and then a break. DH sweetly arrived in 15 minutes with a cuppa and he commented on my way of working! I spend the hand sewing time in my comfy recliner. It makes the work so much easier for me.
At 12:30PM I put the baked Ziti leftover from yesterday in to warm and called DH from his never ending mowing to come and have lunch with me. I made the ziti bake yesterday and was delighted with how scrumptious it was as I hadn’t made it in many, many years.
In the afternoon I worked on a 12 inch doll. She has mixed yarns brown hair and big blue eyes. After talking on the phone with my daughter and my close friend I came down to do the hand sewing while listening to the Red Sox game. My friend, Pat, will be coming to visit over the fourth of July.I haven’t seen her in a couple of years.
After 6PM the game still on in extra innings I made shaved steak tortillas for supper.
The Red Sox finally won..yippee!
Some computer time and then another doll sale. I am selling them almost as fast as I am making them these days. God is so good.
Its a wonderfully cool evening and I am about to check all the hens and ducks for the last of then evening check and then wind down for bed. DH is leaving at 5 AM for fishing so I’ll probably be up early tomorrow to start my day.

Hello Jan
Thanks for dropping by yesterday
It sounded like you had a really nice day on Saturday.
I love it when nature is working properly and things begin to grow. Wonder whats happened to the carrots?
Do you think that soon you’ll have more ducks than chooks lol
Take care
