An overnight ice storm and icing this morning brought a twohour school delay. The temps are hovering at the freezing point making travel dangerous. Thankfully although our net connection was down last night this morning it is up again. All this weather affects the tower that sends the signal our way.

I’m thinking Spring!, originally uploaded by mabeane6.Yes, that’s snow on the ground behind them but I can dream, can’t I! The holiday has brought flowers to the local stores and I couldn’t resist bring these home. DH wondered why I only got two. He thought we needed to fill the whole windowsill. The days are getting longer and it feels like change is in the air. If we can get by tonight’s ice/sleet storm perhaps we will be on the other side of winter.

Hey, if I don’t look out the window I won’t see the snow that is steadily falling and has been since 3 PM. I didn’t hear any forecast about this snow event so I am pretending it is happening. I have heard rumors that another weekend will bring another storm. It must be the year of weekend storms!

It’s an uncertain type of day. The water on the ice makes footing uncertain and it is icing from the sky again. Not hail, not snow but tiny pellets of ice. Everywhere is being covered with ball bearing type ice making it very slick.
I am in the middle of making donuts. My new deep cast iron skillet should make the process very doable. I haven’t made donuts since my children were little kids. I hope this works as my mouth is already watering!
I am slowed down a bit since I went to Mardens on Friday. They had a huge new shipment of towels in and they were scattered about the fabric department waiting to be put on the shelves. I started sneezing and could not stop. I think there was some type of sizing in the towels. That night I felt like I was drowning and had difficulty breathing. Consequently yesterday I hardly functioned. I’m doing better today but still have tightness in my chest. And yes, to all who want to know, I am taking medication for it!

I looked back on my blog and saw that the snow had started in November. That’s why I feel like the winter has lasted so very long. I mean, guys, its March already. The tulips are supposed to be poking through the ground along with the daffodils. I want to put my ski pants away. Everything is once again covered with the white stuff and the sky is snow filled and gray. I am glad I don’t live in the south pole!
I finished another doll today. Her name is Cathleen and of course, she has red hair. It is close to St Patrick’s Day. No pictures yet because the light is so poor.
