New ideas from the Thanksgiving women cooks have stretched me and I am loving it. The salad ingredients were so tasty over the holiday that I have stepped up to the plate and made one tonight.
Yesterday I made bread using a rather loose recipe that was very easy and turned out well.
Sooo… supper was a tasty salad and meat and cheese salad. Perfectly satisfying.

Two days out from the long visit and the exciting Thanksgiving visitors and I am feeling pretty good.  I have determined to pace myself better and to give up the need to move so quickly.  It has helped to have a full day of rest yesterday and go slow and steady today.  I was able to go for prescriptions by allowing myself a lot of time and several rest breaks.  It felt good to manage that piece better. Because I had a short list in hand, I have most of the Christmas items bought.Now I have to package and send.  That feels good as well.

Today we had a bit of snow on the ground and the temps stayed in the low 30s.  It seemed like winter was creeping in.  I am so thankful for a warm cozy stove that chases the chill away.

Just before supper we had a wonderful surprise. Another daughter and grand daughter arrived. The house is full of laughing and talking. It was totallly unexpected and I am so pleased.

These wee babies are awaiting their new stretch velvet buntings. I worked on them today while resting and watching two active boys interacting with their dad.

I love the day after Thanksgiving.  Breakfast is usually something leftover with apple in it.  Everyone is relaxed and taking life in the slow lane.  The boys are mellowed out and enjoying the toys here at Grammy’s house.

Mom got some extra rest as well.

We needed to have some bright orange hats for outdoors time since it is hunting season. I was able to pull together some fleece and the boys were kept safe.

Isn’t it amazing that when you have company coming you find a lot of other things to do besides the tasks at hand?  I mean why should the kitchen drawer neglected for over a year now NEED to be cleaned out and sorted?  And the mittens and hats for winter certainly don’t need to be put in place this very morning.  The tools,  hanging out for several months in the back hall could hang a bit longer…but no.  Now it is getting done.  The company will come whether I’m ready or not!  They probably won’t even care that the mittens are sorted!

I am using an antihistamine that is slowing me down and I am able to do these odd jobs in a leisurely fashion as well.

Anticipation…its getting closer…  I have so much to be thankful for this year!
