Paper Whites

My sister gave me some Paper White bulbs for Christmas. Of course, I immediately planted then and am delight to report they are blooming. I have them in my kitchen window where I can remember to add water as needed and they are thriving. They give off a wonderful scent as well.
Today is a snow day with not much snow but that horrible weather that creates slick roads and dangerous conditions. We are staying put at home venturing out only to tend the animals.

I have put in a half day in the sewing room and am moving right along with the completion of the girls outfits. This has been a busy week!

This one is gloating because she got her dress made first! She hoping for an outing today and has been pestering me since we finished her dress. We’ll see. There are two others clambering to be tended to. I suppose we might find a bit of time to visit anyway.

Dolls! Dolls! Dolls!

These three should be fully clothed by the end of the week. That is if they can sit still long enough for fittings. I am impressed with their endless energy and joyful spirits. Every time I turn my back they are up to something!

My days have been filled with sewing and trying on and sewing some. How blessed I am to have an opportunity to create in this way.

This beauty, one of the three is coming together nicely. She has complained about just wearing underwear though, so I whipped up a pair of pajamas. That should hold her un til tomorrow morning!

I have some many ideas floating around in my head that I suspect that these three dolls will come with an ensemble instead of just one outfit!

A Doll With Red Hair

Her hair is certainly red…carrot red. However she loves that color and can’t wait to have some clothes so she can go out and play!

Another Bone-Chilling Day

Its the kind of day that makes you stay inside. I decided to use this opportunity to get some new dolls going. I have been at it all day and am truly enjoying the experience. Two have gotten their bodies while a third is still just a head! No matter…tomorrow she will be finished. Then on to eyes, mouth and hair. Fun. Fun. Fun!

I had a blast pulling together all the elements for this doll order. I certainly am pleased with the results. She a wonderful doll!

My shoulder is down to a dull ache so I have been able to work on this custom doll’s clothing. She is almost done. I am pleased.

Shoulder Issues

Shoulder issues put me out of commission yesterday. My right shoulder and arm seem to have a mind of their own. The arm does not want to move in a certain direction that it has willingly moved over many years. The brain forgets that tiny fact and occasionally makes that move unwittingly. Ah, the pain, the pain. And when that subsides the aftermath that requires tending…heat and pain meds. Yesterday it took longer than I wanted but this morning only a dull ache remains. And life goes on.

My sister visited yesterday morning and reminded me of David’s Psalm, “He maketh me to lie down…” and I recalled the part, “He restoreth my soul…”

I am looking forward to restoration…thank you, Lord.

First…its been very cold! below zero with wind chill cold.

The goats don’t mind.
They are all wearing warm wooly coats and seem nonplussed by it all as long as I fill their feeder and bring warm water. They are so easy to please.

This morning I saw long shadows and a still unmelted ice bucket throwaway.

Because of the cold day I busied myself with more doll ideas that have been wanting to get out of my head. I worked on a small 9 inch sweetie and am pleased so far. She needs a pinafore and then she’ll be done. Edie’s doll certainly has enjoyed having a new little friend.
