I have found some wonderful stretch velour to give these wee ones just the buntings they need. Here we have lavender(showing up as blue unfortunately), sage, blue and golden buntings. Underneath they have a flannel diaper that can be peeked at by stretching the elastic! They have a small ribbon on their hats. They fit nicely into a pocket .  They are for sale on Etsy.

I have been resting from our trip and these dolls have a lot of handwork so I could be creative while resting!

Today we are going to Portland  (229miles) and yes Maine is a BIG state. Husband has a training there this afternoon.  The great thing is that two grandbeanes live there. Yippee!

We will stay overnight and get some hugs and kisses and lots of wrestling I am told!  In the morning we will head to Amity’s place and see how she has made her apartment a home.  We are also taking a few things to her.

Then home again to rest from our journey and prepare for another week ahead!

The past couple of days I have been working on bunting babies. Since quite a bit of the work is hand work and can be done in the recliner this worked for me. She has a full body underneath which can be felt through the bunting. Her hat is purposefully long so the child can hang on or rub as velour has a lot of texture. All of the clothing is securely sewed to the doll and is not removable.

With the uncertainly of the time involved in jury duty I expected to have an up in the air week…but certainly not starting on Sunday night and cruising into today at such high speed.  I took DH to the emergency room at suppertime because he was in such severe dental pain he could not function.  The pain meds he was given didn’t touch the pain and we both were up and down most of the night.

At 6:15 AM he called the dentist and was able to secure a slot at 10:30AM.  After a long 4 hours of unrelenting pain we got to the dentist’s office and he had the offending teeth (2) removed.  Now for some healing time.

He is finally sleeping and I am resting.  Driving twice to Calais (60 miles round trip) really triggered  my breathing  issues and the nebulizer has been my friend as I try to regain even breathing again.  So much excitement and such a short time!  I wonder what tomorrow will hold???

Oh and jury duty…the defendant settled so husband doesn’t have to report until December!

The two grandbeanes are enjoying the fall.

I did my stint three years ago in the late spring traveling 130 miles round trip to Machias on each day required. I was on three juries which added to the time I needed to be there.  Thankfully the mileage was paid and we received a whopping $15 a day!  Since I worked part-time then my job didn’t kick in any of the money I might have made if I’d been working.  It was an interesting time and I felt good doing it.

DH has now been called to jury duty.  He has to go into Bangor which is 200 miles round trip.  His term of service (being available if called) is Nov through Jan.  He starts on Tuesday so it should be an interesting and long week.  He should know if he’s been chosen for any Nov juries  this week and then only has to go those days. We will see.
