Oh dear, I might be having too much fun! These dollies with their jackets and hats tickle me!

Ready for an outing., originally uploaded by mabeane6.

To answer some questions I have had lately. Yes, I do custom dolls.

I have a small cottage industry in my home and make each one individually. I welcome any inquiries (jan@beane.org) about this so fire away. I love creating these special dolls and work on them almost everyday. I have shipped them all over the world and love getting feedback on them.

I make mostly 16 inch dolls because I like their size and feel that kids can dress and undress them more easily.

I have spent the morning in my sewing room learning to make tee shirts. Sewing on knit fabric is a bit tricky. Two boys are receiving boy dolls at birthday time and they both needed tees. One, of course, needs shorts for that warm Florida weather.

It was 1 degree when we got up and has gradually warmed to 6. The house, wood stoved warmed, is very cozy. Relaxation is the order of the day. DH is on vacation. Whoo hoo!!!!

I spent part of the morning finishing Henry’s shirt. It needed a hem and a velcro closure. Thank God for the internet. Since the closure was sticky and my needle got sticky. So I went online and found out how to deal with that problem.

I also made him some “tighty-whities” to go under his jeans. He needs to be fully dressed! What fun this project is for me!
