The day dawned crisp and clear with a touch of frost on the church roof. I have been working on a doll sweater so after breakfast sat down to keep at it. Husband had a few things to do outside and then he invited me to ride with him for a manure pick up! Black gold is what it is and it makes the garden do what it does best… grow great produce. The pick up was easy because the fellow had a front end loader and loaded us up. After a friendly, neighborly chat we headed home. Unloading might be more difficult. This was wet and heavy. However husband had a plan and it worked saving his back for future strenuous tasks. He raked it out into a cart and dumped it into the compost pile easily. It pleased him so that he went back for a second load.
Meanwhile the goats lounged in their outside pen, Abby enjoying the hay feeder as a bed.
