Late Harvest

Here in Maine the weather is turning cold. Hunting season is in full swing. Most are wearing bright orange hats. My husband has found himself up in the woods in the late afternoon, watching and waiting.

I am satisfied with an easier harvest. I pulled these beautiful late fall carrots and turnip from the garden yesterday. Their sweetness enhanced by a touch of frost. The carrots will most likely become carrot cake today or tomorrow!
